Sharing information
quickly-
Sharing information over the internet has become
increasingly popular over the past few years as to complete the task has become
a lot more easy and accessible, and as the amount of people that have a social
media account has gone over the 1 billion mark. When people share information
in the various forms it can also be used to promote businesses. An example of
this is the film ‘Despicable Me’, the company that the film belongs to has used
one of the favorite characters from the film to promote the film. The way that
this particular company has done it is they have used the ‘Minions’ from the
film and created many funny videos using them which they place on social
networking sites, often on their page, and then users who like or follow the
page will see the videos and share it in-between their friends and so more and
more people will see the video and want to go and see the film.
Some artists have been found by record labels as the video
has ‘gone viral’ because millions of social networking users have shared a
particular video and they then become famous (e.g. Facebook famous), Justin
Bieber is an example of this.
On sites such as Facebook it has been added on to the
website where if you are logged in and like a certain page, e.g. Coca Cola,
Facebook will then advertise that Facebook page to your friends saying ‘Aimee
Jones likes this’ and then that page will get a lot more views and then more
business will be created.
I think the negatives outweigh some of the positives in this case, the obsession has gotten out of hand and people are becoming too reliant on social media and sharing all the small things they are doing.
ReplyDeleteThis is very informative and easy to read thanks to the use of paragraphs and is nicely divided. A great use of pictures which made a good divider for each of the paragraphs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Joanna, people are becoming obsessed which defeats the object of social media. It is good for an occasional visit throughout the day but some people spend far too long on them which is not healthy.
